MakeUp Tip: Highlighter Tips!

Art of Application

Highlighter Tip #1:

Highlighter should be applied to the top of your cheekbones. It draws the eyes upward. Applying highlighter in this fashion also highlights your bone structure and provides a more radiant face. In locating your cheekbones, place two fingers side by side under the outer corner of your eye. This exact area is the top of your cheekbone. Have fun with highlighter but don’t go overboard!

Highlighter Tip #2:

Did you know that you can use a Q-tip to apply highlighter to your eye area if you don’t have or can’t find your eye shadow brush?! Highlighter can be applied in three central areas: the inner corners of your eyes, your cheekbones (as described in our previous tip “Art of Application – Highlighter #1”), and under your eyebrows. If using cream or liquid highlighter, use a small amount and blend it into your skin well using your ring finger. A little highlighter goes a long way to achieve a radiant glowing face.~xoxo #VVC

MakeUp Tip: The Art of Foundation Application!

The Art of Application: Foundation

Foundation and tinted moisturizers are applied using the same method. Using a makeup sponge put a little foundation or tinted moisturizer on the sponge and blend it all over the face. Making sure you apply it on the eyelids and underneath your eyes. On your cheeks and forehead foundation should be blended outward toward the hair line in a straight motion. Then, blend and buff down the nose and neck for a perfectly blended finish.

MakeUp Tip: Another Concealer Trick!

Concealer Tricks #2

Eye lift and wake up call all in one…using a concealer brush, lightly apply a thin layer of concealer under your eye from the outside of the lower lash line upward toward the end of the brow. Make sure you blend well. This trick highlights your eye area and gives you an eye lift to die for. ~xoxo VVC

Makeup Tip: Vixen Vice and Concealer Tricks!

Concealer Tricks #1

VV CONCEALER

Dip your makeup brush into the foundation residue that spills over in the cap. Because it’s a little dried up, it makes for a thicker spot concealer to layer on the needed spots.

Beauty Myth! What Say You?

I originally had a mind to post a #BOTD, but I decided against it (I will DEFINITELY post one later though lol).

I wanted to address a Beauty Myth. That myth being: “Makeup equals beauty”.

This could probably go on that long list of utterly ridiculous things that will make you frown your face in 24 different directions!

Are you not beautiful unless you are wearing makeup?”

Well let me go ahead and kill that nonsense…I believe myself to be a naturally beautiful woman. By natural, I mean “no makeup”; nothing to enhance my face. I pride myself in following old family skin care secrets from my late grandmother, drinking plenty of water, getting as much rest as I can, and trying to stay active and w a positive attitude! Don’t get me wrong; I think makeup is awesome! Less is more and more is less; the less you have on, the more natural the look. The more makeup you wear, the less I can tell what you actually look like. I just don’t think that wearing MAKEUP makes you “beautiful”.

A number of things can make a person beautiful; from their attitude, to their personal style/confidence, and just the way they are PERIOD. Makeup won’t change a girl w an “inner goon” into a goddess. If you are ugly on the inside, your outside is totally irrelevant…

Enough of my rant lol; I just wanted to tackle this myth head on. It’s simply NOT TRUE; makeup does not mean beauty and vice versa. So many have this incorrect, and hopefully NOW you will understand the difference between the two!
